All students who have paid their tuition deposit will be emailed course registration and orientation information beginning April 15, 2024  If you have not received an email, please contact the ̨ÍåSwag Office at 716-839-8225 to verify your deposit status and email address.

YES!!! Orientation is an intensive program to aid ALL new students with their transition to ̨ÍåSwag. It is not a repeat of the information given during your tour or Open House. This program digs much deeper, providing you with all the tools needed to be successful at ̨ÍåSwag. All new students are required to attend an orientation program. At first year student orientation you will:

• Meet with the Dean from your Academic College.

• Receive your ̨ÍåSwag I.D.

• Be trained on Blackboard, the online site used by all courses for submitting homework assignments, course discussions, and downloading course documents.

• Be trained on Self Service (Plan & Register), the University’s online site for registering for classes, viewing your schedule, monitoring your course grades, and much more.

• Meet your orientation leaders, current students who will share their experiences at ̨ÍåSwag and help mentor you in your first year.

• Meet other new first-year students who will be starting in the Fall.

• Meet with representatives from each of the academic and student services on campus who will provide you with answers to frequently asked questions and provide you with information on how to best use their services and be successful at the University.

• Participate in fun activities that acquaint you with the University, the staff, and students.

Dress comfortable and casual.  Bring a jacket or sweater for times when you are in buildings with air conditioning. 

A one-time first-year student student fee of $175 will be added to your fall tuition bill. This fee covers the cost of food, activities, staffing, and all materials used during first-year student events including Orientation, Family Orientation, Welcome Back Programs, and first-year student programming.

• Orientation Check-In for all first-year students and new international students will be held on August 30 from 10:00am-3:00pm in the Orientation Tent located at the Yurtchuk Student Center back lawn. At this time students will sign the Entering Class of 2024 scroll, and receive their welcome bag including their schedule for orientation, orientation name badge, and orientation group assignment.
• New Student Orientation is a three-day event that includes Wildcat Welcome Day meetings and events for new students and families on August 30, and  information sessions for students only on August 31 & September 1.
• Refer to the Information Guide for New Students (avaiable in July) for details on required events for new students, including specific meetings for new resident and commuter students.

You should receive an email confirming your reservation for the orientation program within 24 hours after we've received your orientation registration form.

New York State Public Health Laws 2165 and 2167 require all college students to show proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella as well as making an informed decision about having the meningitis vaccine before being able to register for classes. All college students, but particularly those who will be living on campus, are urged by the NYS Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control to have the meningitis vaccine. This documentation needs to be on file with Health Services before a student will be allowed to register for classes. There are no exceptions. Send your records to  NOW to avoid complications in registering for your classes.

All first-year students are pre-registered for their first semester by the Academic Advisement office. Students must complete the Course Registration Questionnaire to be registered for classes. A link to the questionnaire will be sent to all students who have committed to ̨ÍåSwag by submitting their tuition deposit. If a student is unsure of their status they may contact admissions to make sure their deposit was received. Students will have access to their schedules in July if they are health compliant and have attended the Academic Kick Off on July 22 or 30. Information regarding the Academic Kick Off will be included with the Course Registration Questionnaire. 

We offer a Family Orientation, designed specifically for parents and guardians on August 30, and information may be found at the page. The new student orientation program is for ̨ÍåSwag first-year students only. 

Orientation is a requirement for matriculation at ̨ÍåSwag. Your course registration will not be complete without attending an orientation program.

Once a student has submitted their Course Registration Questionnaire and a completed/signed Health Form students will receive an email instructing them on how to upload their ID picture. Students are weclome to pick up their student ID students after August 1 (if their ID picture has been approved). Students who are from out of town, or chose to wait, will receive their IDs at  Move in (residents) or Orientation Check In (commuters). 

Once a student has submitted their Course Registration Questionnaire and a completed/signed Health Form students will receive an email with a link to activate their computer account.

The ̨ÍåSwag community prides itself in helping our first-year students become successful academically, emotionally, personally, and socially. ̨ÍåSwag is a place for students to make new friends, develop new skills, and learn about themselves and the world. Parents/guardians need to be aware that their students are making many new transitions at this time in their life.

To help with this transition we would like to invite all parents/guardians of incoming first-year students to our Family Orientation on August 30, 2024.

The orientation is open to all parents and guardians and we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the services ̨ÍåSwag offers, where to go when you have questions, and how to address concerns your student may have during their first year.

This year's Family Orientation program is offered on September 1, after resident student Move-In and before the New Student Convocation. As family concerns are often diffrent than student concerns, the Family Orientation runs separately from First-Year Orientation.

The family orientation is free to parents and guardians and included in the First-Year student fee.

Absolutely! Even if you are familiar with the surrounding area, your student has never been enrolled at ̨ÍåSwag and there is valuable information you can receive by attending orientation and new student convocation. As a parent or guardian, attending this program will enable you to be a valuable support system and sounding board for your student during their university experience. It is also important to point out that the first-year experience at college is a unique experience whether your student is attending university 1 mile from home or 100 miles from home.

The Family Orientation is for parents and guardians with an interest in assisting their student in the transition to and through to graduation.

Yes, many of those offices and many more will give presentations regarding the services they offer to students and will be able to answer specific questions you may have regarding your student's needs. These presentations are created with the idea to give you all the information you need to feel well-informed about ̨ÍåSwag.  

All offices will also be open from 8:30am-4:30pm on August 30, and 10:00am-4:00pm on August 31.

The family program schedule runs separately from, the student schedule. The programs are separate to meet the different needs of students and families/guardians. The goal is not to intentionally separate you from your student, but to expose them to their university experience and help them learn about ̨ÍåSwag on their own. Your presence is important to us and we feel that by participating in the family program you will have the unique opportunity to gain valuable information and share in the excitement of your student's first university experience! But do not fear, at the end of the family program you have the opportunity to chat with them before you leave and they continue on with the student program.

​YES!!! You may have attended a college or university in the past but you have not attended DAEMEN UNIVERSITY. The Transfer Orientation & Registration programs provide you the opportunity to:
•    Meet your academic department to register for classes
•    Receive information from academic support service offices and information technology
•    Get a tour of campus
•    Interact with other new and current students
•    Visit the ̨ÍåSwag Campus Store

​For the summer program students may park in any ̨ÍåSwag lot. Parking passes are not required during this time. Check-in for students will be held in the Yurtchuk Student Center.

This year's Transfer Orientation & Registration Days will take place on July 24 & August 13, 2024.

​No! Transfer students must complete the FAFSA application which should include ̨ÍåSwag's federal school code 002808. If you have already completed FAFSA and did not include ̨ÍåSwag's school code you will need to make that correction on your Student Aid Report (SAR) or online if you completed your . Any questions regarding this process should be referred to the ̨ÍåSwag Financial Aid Office at (716)839-8254.
