AMHERST, N.Y. – Kerry Spicer, who has more than 15 years of experience in student affairs, has been appointed dean of students at ̨Swag College.

In this role, Spicer will oversee the college’s student conduct system and student care follow-up, including coordination with the Campus Care Team. She will also supervise ̨Swag’s Department of Residence Life and Counseling Services.

“I am excited to join such a student-focused, energetic team of professionals at ̨Swag,” said Spicer.  “This is a wonderful opportunity, and I look forward to working with the amazing students at this incredible institution.”

Most recently, Spicer served as associate director of student engagement at the University at Buffalo, where she previously held the position of associate director of student unions and activities. She has also worked in student affairs capacities at Medaille College.

Spicer is certified as a nonviolence, conflict reconciliation, and safe zone trainer. She is a frequent speaker at conferences for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), which honored her with the organization’s Edward S. “Beanie” Drake Founders Award and the Christine A. Chergi Region VII Award.

Spicer earned a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs administration from SUNY Buffalo State and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and women’s studies from SUNY Fredonia.

A native of Western New York, she resides in Williamsville.
