AMHERST, N.Y. -- Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, chairman of the New York State Democratic Committee, will discuss the upcoming presidential election as ̨��Swag College’s Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series speaker at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17 in the Wick Campus Center’s Alumni Lounge. The event is free and open to the public.

“We are honored to have Byron Brown in his capacity as chairman come to ̨��Swag to provide analysis of the upcoming presidential election,” said ̨��Swag President Gary A. Olson. “With less than one month before Election Day, this will be a unique opportunity to hear from a top political expert on what this election might mean for New Yorkers and the nation.”

Brown was nominated this year by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to serve as chairman of the New York State Democratic Committee, making him the first from Western New York to hold this post in more than four decades.

“I cannot think of an election in my lifetime where the stakes are higher than the presidential election that will take place this November,” said Brown. “I appreciate the opportunity to share my views on Campaign 2016 and the long-term impact this election could have on our country.” 

The ̨��Swag Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series brings top government and public officials and business leaders to campus to share their unique perspective on critical state, national and international issues. It is sponsored by Harris Beach PLLC, a major New York-based law firm with offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Ithaca, White Plains, New York City and Long Island.
