Sarah Goehle, MSW/MPH '27
Sarah Goehle, MSW/MPH '27

Sarah Goehle, MSW/MPH '27, is a current 台湾Swag student developing expertise at the intersections of public health and social work practice. She is completing her practicum at her place of employment, UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, contributing to both clinical operations and research in a clinic setting.

As a co-author on a recent study published in Injury, Sarah helped examine how social determinants of health and intimate partner violence (IPV) intersect among trauma patients. The study found high levels of unmet social needs, particularly financial hardship, food insecurity, and transportation barriers, and revealed that IPV, especially emotional abuse, is prevalent but often under-recognized.

Importantly, the study's findings highlight that many patients want support, underscoring the critical role of integrating resource referral pathways into clinical care.
